PPC Case Study: Luxury Jewelry Retailer

Company Description

This company sells high-end jewelry, housewares and gift items out of its famous brick and mortar stores in Beverly Hills and through its website. The company enjoys significant press coverage and caters to celebrities and socialites.

Challenge

The client’s sales were stalled. Their major advertising vehicle was local print. They knew they had to market their website online, but didn’t know how to approach it. The company has a lean operation with people wearing many hats and online advertising was not something they felt they could do well.

Solution

Ionic Media engaged them in a customized PPC and SEO campaign designed to increase their targeted traffic and boost sales.

The PPC campaign efforts included a full build-out across primary and secondary engines with over 50,000 active keywords. We continuously tested and optimized the accounts to drive the highest possible ROAS from search. The PPC campaigns were built to allow maximum flexibility so that promotions, events and new products can be featured in the PPC campaigns. Also, the search campaigns are tied to the print advertising to ensure that products that are advertised in magazines and newspapers are simultaneously featured in our search campaigns.

The SEO campaign focused on building out relevant site content and increasing the number of inbound links to drive authority.

Ionic Media also installed call tracking to help understand the full value of the marketing campaigns.

Results

Retail sales are up 300% from last year and the marketing staff are far ahead of their annual goals halfway through the year. The SEO efforts have beaten all expectations, with over 15 targeted keywords in top 10 positions. Call tracking has revealed that the online efforts drive a significant percentage of the calls into customer service.
